- Position Description:
- We are seeking a highly motivated senior scientist with broad hands-on experience in animal tumor models to lead oncology pharmacology studies at AstraZeneca Innovation Center china. The successful candidate will independently design studies and participate in team efforts to establish project-specific animal models of human cancers, and support for in vivo evaluation of oncology drug pipelines.
- Major Responsibilities:

- Provide scientific leadership in in vivo oncology and pharmacology studies for drug discovery and development projects
- Familiar with in vivo animal techniques, such as bleeding, dosing, implantation, small animal surgery
- Design and execute in vivo animal xenograft tumor models, such as subcutaneous, orthotopic, metastasis
- Develop novel in vivo tumor models with human primary tumor tissue
- Identify, evaluate and develop disease models for HCC and/or Gastric cancer
- Design and execute PK life-phase and PD/biomarker, and angiogenesis assays
- Tissue culture and PD sample analysis with Western blot, ELISA, FACS
- Perform multi-tasks and participate in several projects simultaneously
- Supervise activities of associates daily, and work closely with scientists from other divisions, such as Cell Science and Translational Medicine, etc
- Possess excellent problem-solving skills
- Organize, report and communicate study outcome to the project team
- Minimum Requirements:

- Ph.D in oncology, pharmacology science with a minimum of 3 - 5 years hands-on experience working with animal tumor models
- Demonstrated experience with a variety of oncology-related animal models and a detailed understanding of pathways relevant to oncology
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
