- Position Description:
- We are seeking a highly motivated scientist/senior scientist with broad hands-on experience in in vitro models of metabolism to predict the in vivo liability of compounds and build in vitro–in vivo correlations, and assess the drug–drug interaction potential of compounds through inhibition of drug metabolism enzymes. The successful candidate will independently design DMPK studies and execute experiments to support AZ oncology projects in ICC.
- Major Responsibilities:
-
- To effectively perform in vitro metabolism experiments independently and working as part of a team. To assist colleagues as required
- To derive, summarise and tabulate data using computer packages, for incorporation into reports/databases according to agreed timelines
- To develop/perform methods and identify/resolve problems from ADME and/or PK studies to achieve project objectives
- To deliver high quality scientific results to agreed completion dates for several concurrent studies and schedule own work in agreement with supervisor so that project deadlines are achieved
- To maintain an awareness of current scientific development relevant to in vitro metabolism DMPK science
- To present and describe work at internal/external meetings as appropriate
- To ensure their own work meets AstraZeneca standards
- To ensure their own work is conducted in accordance with local/site safety, health and environment requirements (having received information and training)

-
- Conduct assays (Knowledge of in vitro drug metabolism models and practical enzyme/cell assay experience, LC/MS/MS as plus)
- Derive in vitro assay parameters (Enzyme kinetic knowledge)
- Data interpretation/ integration (ability to relate in vitro parameters to in vivo parameters and an ability to put data into context for compound ADME)
- Independent troubleshooting/new methods/publications (proactive approach to problem solving and strong scientific track record)
- Good verbal and written communication in English and Chinese
