Recommending and Commenting on Papers

What is a 'Chinese' paper?
We suggest that you submit recommended papers of which the first and corresponding authors are working at institutions in mainland China or Hong Kong. The majority of other authors should also be based in mainland China or Hong Kong.
What type of papers should I suggest for the 'recommended papers' section of Nature China?
This is up to you. You may recommend a paper you think is particularly interesting, novel or controversial. You must explain why you have chosen this paper when you recommend it here.
Can anyone recommend or comment on papers?
Anyone can recommend or comment on papers however you must be registered with nature.com, so that you can sign in. By signing in and commenting we assume you agree to our Terms and Conditions. If you do not already have an account, you can register for one at nature.com.
Can I recommend a paper I have authored?
No. The Editors will reject any recommended papers submitted by an author.
Can I comment on my own paper?
Yes certainly, we hope that authors will take part in discussions and that Nature China will become a forum for the discussion of new and interesting research.
How long will it be before my recommendation/comment appears?
Initially recommendations or comments will be premoderated, this means that before your recommendation or comment is published on the site, it will be reviewed by our staff to ensure that it is not offensive or inflammatory. Our aim is to have all recommendations or comments published within one working day of being submitted.
How will I know if the paper I recommended has been published online?
You will receive an email to the address given in your nature.com registration. To change these details logon here. To create a nature.com account click here.
How does voting work?
Each user may vote once on each recommended paper. A positive vote adds one to the paper's score and a negative vote removes one point. When you view them in the 'voted most popular' tab, the papers are listed in order of points scored.
What does my paper's score mean?
All registered users are free to vote anonymously on each paper. Your paper's overall score is the number of users voting positively for it minus the number voting negatively. This is the number used to place it in our 'voted most popular' list. However, a paper that has received a high total number of votes, whether negative or positive, is also clearly of interest to many people.
Can other users see how I have voted?
No. Neither users nor the Editors can see this information.
